Have you ever had a dream of a city - a place that inspires you, a place that feels like a home away from home; that's exactly what Bombay- now Mumbai; feels like. 

Even amidst all the chaos the city feels like a warm hug. With one of the most populous streets in the country, Mumbai is a city that never sleeps and never stops for anyone. But what's so special about Mumbai anyway? for everyone there's a different answer- for someone it is home, for some, it's a place where they can fulfil their dreams, and for others, it's a place where they can finally be free. The city itself is magic. 

With beautiful blends of Gothic, Art Deco, Indo- Saracenic and Contemporary architectural styles. Many buildings, structures and historical monuments are from the colonial era. Mumbai has the second largest number of Art Deco buildings in the world.

 With a picturesque landscape and scenic views of the sea Mumbai is a wonderful place. Even though the beaches may be overcrowded they are still a very popular tourist destination. families, friends, tourists everyone visit the different beaches - Juhu Beach, Versova Beach Aksa Beach, Gorai Beach and many more.

Marine Drives is the one place where all your problems suddenly start to disappear. It is exactly how it is described in the movies- when the music rises to a crescendo, the cool breeze from the ocean; the fresh air hits your face and you just find peace. A late-night stroll at the Marine Drive is enough to solve all your problems, especially with a sandwich ice cream in hand from K. Rustoms.

There is another love for Mumbai's food. whether it's the Vada Pav from the stall outside Mithibai College, the Sev Puri or Elco's Chaat. From expensive restaurants to amazing street foods, Mumbai has it all. As a foodie, you can never get tired of the food in Mumbai.

 Mumbai is also famous for its world-class cafes and Michelin-star restaurants. some dating back to being decades old. for example: Leopold cafe is an old-school cafe/bar dating back to 1871 and still has an ambience that reminisces the olden days.

Mumbai is also famous for its sacred and religious sites- Shree Siddhivinayak, The Mahalakshmi Temple, Haji Ali Dargah etc are some of the popular religious sites which are on every visitor's bucket list. The Thomas Cathedral is a 300-year-old church which is also one such place.

Not only historic cafes the city also offers beautiful historic movie theatres, streets, universities etc. These are not only beautiful to look at but offer deep insights into the history of the place. Regal Cinema was the first air-conditioned cinema hall in India.

The city offers numerous opportunities to everyone whether they are tourists, students, actors, singers etc from all around the world. It is a place where people can fulfil their dreams. St. Xaviers is a famous university among youngsters. Many students aspire to get admission to this college. The college has a long list of successful alumni and many popular films have been shot here.

Mumbai is a shopaholic's dream. As someone who loves to shop, Linking Road and Colaba Causeway are just dreamlands. With imported pieces and incredible fashion pieces, it is safe to say that Mumbai is the fashion capital of India. Not only that but it fosters incredible fashion houses set up by small and big fashion designers from all around the world.

Out of all the places that I have been to till now, it is safe to say that Mumbai is the place where my heart belongs. As a person who was travelling solo for the first time it not only felt safe but also comfortable. The diversity, the culture, the people everything is just incredible.

    Ps: Vada pav is only found in Mumbai rest are idk what but not Vada pav for sure.
